In addition to the traditional PSR classes, Blessed Sacrament Parish also offers PSR for Exceptional People. These classes provide Catholic instruction for those with developmental disabilities in the Springfield diocese area. People ages 7 through adult with developmental and mental disabilities have been meeting at Blessed Sacrament for over 40 years and it is the only program of its kind in Springfield. The program is hinged on the generosity of ten giving, loving, teachers who are willing to share their time and talent to work with those in need of it. Naturally, the families of these students must be a part of their journey to bring Jesus into their life as strongly as possible. Springfield & Chatham Knights of Columbus, Councils 364 & 4179, graciously support the PSR for Exceptional People, and so do many from various parishes. Yet, in truth, isn’t it the responsibility of us all to bring Jesus to those waiting to hear.
The 2021-22 school year will begin with a picnic on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Regular classes began on Wednesday, September 21, 2021, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. They will be held in the same location as last year, the Art Room at Blessed Sacrament School. For specific dates, please see the 2022-23 PSRx Calendar.
