In Mark 10:14-16, Jesus says, ‘ “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.” Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.’
This program is designed for families of children attending public schools. Your enthusiasm for sowing the seeds of faith in your family, whether at Mass, classes, lessons, traditions and policies will speak volumes to your children as they mature in their faith! We hope that our enthusiasm for faith formation is contagious and that you will always feel welcome in our office and program.
The PSR program fulfills our parish mission statement by offering a quality Catholic education to the children of the parish who attend public schools. We will meet each Sunday morning from 9:15 AM to 10:23 AM from August to mid-May. Students from first through eighth grades gather to learn the truths of the Catholic faith and how to apply those truths to their daily lives. Those who are sufficiently prepared in third grade will receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. If you have questions regarding our program, please contact Mrs. Karen Senger.
Class and Mass attendance are very important for the children during this formation year. This should be the top priority on the list of things "To Do." We do not want the children to be shortchanged when it comes to this preparation.
The 2023/24 PSR fees are $50 per family and $30 for each child receiving a sacrament. Checks should be made payable to "Blessed Sacrament".
First Communion and Confirmation will take place on November 28, 2023 at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral with Bishop Paprocki.
Older children with no faith formation background are placed in their regular school grade for the first year of RE. The second year, they are placed in their grade level class and the Special Sacrament class.
Reconciliation for 2nd graders will take place on November 15, 2023 at 6:30 PM at Blessed Sacrament.
